Merger
[edit]I think the Lakas-Kampi-CMD article should be merge with this article.. since this party is the surviving entity and no matter what.. people will still call the new party as Lakas anyway rather than Kampi.. peads (talk)

Lakas ng Tao – Christian Muslim Democrats → Lakas–CMD – It's quite easy to note that absolutely (almost) no one calls this party as "Lakas ng Tao – Christian Muslim Democrats". It's always "Lakas–CMD". If "CMD" is too ambiguous, it can be spelled out to "Christian Muslim Democrats."
- (Note: As an erstwhile participant to the "Dash Wars", I'm not sure which dash/hyphen is appropriate.) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 04:48, 5 July 2012 (UTC) –HTD 06:09, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Christian Democratic Socialist Movement to NUCD
[edit]Wikipedia apparently has no coverage of the history of the Christian Democratic Socialist Movement of Raul Manglapus from its 1968 founding to its renaming as the National Union of Christian Democrats prior to its merger with Lakas. This is a bit confusing. - Thundersub (talk) 04:04, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
Election result tables
[edit]This has been a bone of contention for a while, and there has been no agreement on how this should be done. We have several models to choose from, and my preference is the French example, tailored to the Philippines. Socialist Party (France) is the model I personally want on, with some slight differences:
- Vice presidential elections are a different table, as it is a different office. In the strictest sense of the world, there are no "running mates".
- Senate and House elections are different tables due to the same reason as #1.
- Senate table has different "seats won" and "seats after" column due to it being a staggered election for most instances. House only has "Seats (won)" column.
- House district and party-list elections may be in separate tables or not; these affect only a few parties (not Lakas) and we can figure this out as we move along.
- Results column:
- President/vice presidential elections: No reference to who won, just won or lost.
- Legislative elections: Majority or split or minority (if won seats), lost if did not win seats
- Party list can have optional results column.
- For Senate elections, as these are a bit more complex:
- In post-EDSA election, multi-party alliances are common; COMELEC only recognizes alliances if candidates actually run under its banner (example: Lakas ng Bayan, GAD, UPP-KBL, Koalisyon Pambansa, NPC (1995), Lakas (1992, 1998), LAMMP, KNP and UNA, but not Lakas-Laban, K4, TEAM Unity, GO, Team PNoy, UniTeam, TRoPa and MP3.
- In determining results, this is determined on the party/alliance/coalition label recognised by COMELEC. Ergo, those not recognized are per party, so in 2022, NPC won several seats and is in the majority. UniTeam article can mention that they won plurality of seats contested.
- This also keeps colors at a minimum, at the seats column/s, and at the results column.
For an example of the setup I prefer, see for Lakas-NUCD, Nacionalista (agnostic on "outcome" section), and Liberal Party (Philippines) (still not changed lol) Tagging YssaLang, who edited the current version on this article, Itsquietuptown, Katya2017, RandomCanadian, previously disccused this at Talk:Nacionalista Party#New electoral performance tables, and RioHondo, hueman1, TheNuggeteer, Borgenland, Ganmatthew, and Chipmunkdavis, members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Politics/Philippine politics. WP:PINOY will also been informed of this discussion.
Take note Katya2017's edit was reverted by RandomCanadian by violating MOS:COLOR. Howard the Duck (talk) 21:48, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Note: Liberal Party (Philippines) apparently was already partially changed, with post-EDSA having both chambers under one table. See the original here. Howard the Duck (talk) 21:57, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
