Form vs. Forme
[edit]I've noticed that quite a few player's guides (even Nintendo's), when referring to Deoxys' different forms, spell the word with an "e" at the end, (i.e.: "forme"). Should this be reflected in the article as well? The guides are printed in the U.S., so I'm unclear of the spelling differences. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 20:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- It should definitely be reflected in the article, because it is official Pokemon terminology. Not using the spelling would be disrespectful to all Pokemon fans, like myself. Plushtoy2000 00:38, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
FAC Nomination
[edit]As said on the FAC, this would be better suited for a GAC than an FAC at the moment; but it still would need a lot more inline references. --SidiLemine 12:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Article creation
[edit]Hey, I've re-created the article from a merge. There is a cultural impact section, lots of references, and a lot of info, so I can't see this article being an AfD. Tezero (talk) 16:23, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, nevermind. Guess I have to develop it a bit more and find more sources that establish its notability. Tezero (talk) 01:00, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Deoxys = No longer event-only
[edit]- In Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Deoxys can be obtained in the Delta Episode, thus making Deoxys no longer an event-only Pokémon. Just thought I should point this out. 68.119.28.72 (talk) 03:27, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Doubting Deoxys' Designer
[edit]I have noticed that the designer is listed as being by Ken Sugimori in the main article, even though there is no source given. I have my doubts that Sugimori is the original creator and I have a feeling it could be Hironobu Yoshida. Similarly, I lack concrete evidence to prove this however I do believe the little evidence I do have is more plausible then anything we have linking towards the creator being by Sugimori (of which I can't seem to find any evidence of at all).
I wrote a comment about it on Bulbapedia a while ago, so I am just going to copy/paste that same comment here since it has my thought process going along with it:
"A source that predates this is a Spanish(?) Pokémon wiki that was initially added 2nd Nov 2013. The very earliest I can seem to find in English though is from summer 2013, and it's this forum stating the Pokémon he created are: Wobbufett, Deoxys, Celebi, Dunsparce and Magmortar. Though the sources are stated to be from Bulbapedia originally, a link is not given. To me, the most likely reason is that it originates from Hironobu illustrating the Deoxys cards for the TCG. I went to Wikipedia to look back at the Deoxys page history and the source given does not actually state Ken designed it - or anyone for that matter, though it quotes 'Deoxys was created by Ken Sugimori with the aid of a development team' in the 2010 Wikipedia article itself. Since then, a source for this claim is needed on Wikipedia.
I decided to look into some Japanese websites and this Yahoo answer from 2012 states similarly to the English forum. I found this twitter post which, while posted this year, seems to contain a screenshot of a strategy guide containing Hironobu's creator profile, where he is credited for creating Deoxys. I read more into this guide and apparently it is from an official strategy book - I still need to find a full visual source though. Then I found this site. The person on this site wanted to find out who designed Darkrai, and they found what seems to be a lot of evidence. This, along with many other Japanese sites also having this information, seems relatively convincing to me and, if right, would mean he would have designed Darkrai as well. Still, it would seem strange I haven't found a source from the developers mouths - though that doesn't seem to happen often anyway."
As I said, this is hardly a good enough set of sources to even suggest Yoshida is the designer, but if Ken was not the designer (which I'm not so certain he is) this is all I could find as a potential source. The reason to what made me question this fact in the first place was that the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer's Edition stated that Deoxys was designed by Ken Sugimori, but had read on other internet sources that he was not the designer beforehand. I would have thought that Guinness Book of World Records would be a reliable source, but a lack of evidence online has had me question otherwise. Minccinda (talk) 00:28, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
